The Founding Fathers are the remaining players in Pigskin Mania who were in the pool in Year 1. All but Javier Morales have been in the pool every year.

The eight living Founding Fathers serve as the Rules Committee, which means they handle all rules interpretations during the course of a season. See Rule 26 in the Pigskin Mania Rules.

A point system has been devised which ranks the group in three categories, career earnings, average score and average finish. Nine points are awarded for finishing first in a category, 8 for second, 7 for third, etc. The players are ranked by total cumulative points. A score of 27 means a player leads in all three categories. Nixon Low, who passed away before the 2013 season, remains in the rankings because his entry is being kept active by a player who chooses to remain anonymous.
