It’s the final Tweetstorm of
Pigskin Mania 33
Item 1. Lots to say, but
first things first. Tpoole329, an entry out of North
Carolina, is the winner of PM33 with a record score of
80.0. The top spot was decided on Sunday. With no
perfect weeks in Week 21, the first place prize climbed
to $3,026. With 2 perfect weeks, Tpoole wins $3,116...
Item 2. Results and
payouts are UNOFFICIAL until midnight Jan. 27 to give
players time to appeal their scores. At that point,
results are declared official and payouts can start
going out. Keep an eye on the website for more details
on payouts…
Item 3. No asterisks. The
winning score of 80.0 is a Pigskin Mania record. While
it did come in a 21-week season, it will be recognized
as the all-time record. The previous record was 76.0 by
the team entry of Mountain Oysters in 2019, which was a
20-week season…
Item 4. In a week with
only five games to pick from, a push in the Eagles-Rams
game meant zero perfect weeks for the final week of the
season. Players on the Eagles side can thank their
kicker who missed two extra points including one late in
the game that would have covered…
Item 5. The pool paid out
8 extra spots, to 119 places because 13 players tied for
107th place. There were a number of ties in the
standings with prize money for multiple spots being
divided by the players involved in the tie…
Item 6. The money page
has a chart showing how season prize money was paid out.
The standings page has total prize money won by each
player. There were 507 players who won enough to cover
their entry fee and another 44 players won back half...
Item 7. Another season
without a perfect week has come and gone for Bill
Stewart who is now at 285 weeks without a perfect week.
He joined the pool in 2010 and has never had a perfecto.
The next longest streak is 184 weeks owned by rfinn400…
As always, we hope everyone had
fun. Thanks to everyone who sent notes over the course
of the season thanking The Poolmaster for all the work
that goes into this. Those are always appreciated and
help keep this thing going. Next up is March Mania
followed by Tour Mania which will begin with The Masters
in April. We’ll be in touch by email.
