Kansas' come-from-behind win over Memphis allowed Scott Duncan to leap over Marc Vielledent to win the pool and take home $975 for first place.

Second place and $195 goes to Vielledent. There was a tie for third place between Barry Brunenkant and Shannon Vielledent who will collect $65 apiece.

There are still a number of players who have not paid their entry fee. I will need to collect that before the prize money can go out. So if you haven't paid, please do that as soon as possible. Send a check or cash to Jay Gonzales, 7656 E. Park View Drive, Tucson, AZ, 85715.

One comment on the format. It looked like this new format made for a more exciting pool and kept it in doubt until the final game, something that hasn't always happened. We'll probably stick with this for next year, so keep in touch. If you change your e-mail address, be sure to let us know so you can be on our mailing list for next year's tournament.

  1. Players will select 8 teams from the field of 64 using the form that will be posted when the tournament bracket is released. E-mail entries are not allowed.

  2. The Play-In Game on Tuesday before the first round of the tournament is not part of this pool. You may select those teams, but their games do not count until they are in the field of 64.

  3. The teams you select each have a point value based on their seeding. Point values are as follows:

  1. Rules Adjustment (The William Nintzel Rule) - Points are scored as follows:

  • For each win in the first weekend of the tournament (first and second rounds) a team scores points equal to its point value.

  • In the second weekend (Sweet 16 and Elite Eight) point values are multiplied by 2. For each win a team scores points equal to its point value times 2.

  • In the final weekend (Final Four) point values are multiplied by 3. For each win a team scores points equal to its point value times 3.

  1. There are no tiebreakers. In case of a tie, prize money will be split.

  2. Entries must be submitted no later than 9 a.m., MST,  Thursday, March 20, 2008. No fax, phone or e-mail entries will be accepted.

  3. Players may submit multiple entries. If you have multiple entries be sure each entry is numbered. If you are submitting only one entry, you do not need to give it an entry number.

  4. Players may change picks up until the deadline for entries. If you want to make a change, simply resubmit picks under the same name and entry number of the entry you are changing. Entries are time stamped, so if there are multiple entries under the same name, the last entry submitted will be the one that counts.

  5. Standings will be updated on this site after each round.
